Booster Box
Thirty-six ten-card packs, MSRP $143.64. Astral Radiance boxes were widely available at retail through 2023, and sealed examples now trade at $330-$430 in August 2026, with most sales landing in the $350-$410 band. It is the lowest-priced Sword & Shield booster box from 2022 and the most reasonable one to actually open.
Elite Trainer Box
The Darkrai ETB includes eight packs, a Darkrai promo, sleeves, dice, energy cards and a storage box, at a $49.99 MSRP. Sealed retail ETBs run $130-$165 as of August 2026. The Darkrai art is popular and the ETB has been one of the steadier movers in the set.
Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box
The Pokemon Center exclusive carries the same eight packs plus foil energy and the PC logo, and trades at $170-$220 sealed. It shows up on eBay less often than the retail version, so expect fewer comps to work from.
Build & Battle Box and Build & Battle Stadium
The Build & Battle Box (four packs, evolution pack, one of four promos, $19.99) sells for $42-$55 sealed and is the cheapest sealed Astral Radiance product with a retail box. The Build & Battle Stadium (two kits plus extras, $49.99) runs $100-$130. Both are fine for anyone who wants a handful of packs without committing to a box.
Blisters
Three-pack blisters with Sylveon, Eevee or Hisuian Zorua promos sell for $38-$50, single-pack blisters for $11-$15 and loose packs for $9-$12. There was no booster bundle for this set; that format began with Lost Origin.
Chase cards and pull rates
Machamp V alternate art 172/189 is the headline card, trading at $90-$140 raw in 2026 and considerably more graded. Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR 167/189 (the character-art version) sits at $40-$70 and the gold Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR around $30-$50. Beedrill V alt art 161/189 and Garchomp V alt art 177/189 fall in the $25-$50 range, and the full-art Irida trainer is $20-$35. Radiant Greninja 046/189, Radiant Heatran and Radiant Hawlucha are inexpensive but were the first Radiant cards ever printed, which gives them steady collector interest. The Trainer Gallery adds Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR and the Kingdra and Palkia character cards at roughly one per box.
Community-reported rates put alt arts at roughly one per two boxes and any given VSTAR at roughly one per box. A box usually returns three to five V or VSTAR hits, one or two full arts and one secret rare, plus one Radiant card every couple of boxes.
Is Astral Radiance worth buying sealed?
Astral Radiance is the low-cost way into out-of-print Sword & Shield. At roughly $10-$12 per pack the box is close to breakeven on expected value compared with singles, which makes it one of the few 2022 boxes that is still defensible to open. As a hold, it has appreciated more slowly than Lost Origin or Fusion Strike because the chase card ceiling is lower and the print run was large. Reprint risk is nil; the set rotated out of Standard in 2024 and Sword & Shield sets have not been reprinted since. Buy boxes rather than blisters if you want to hold, since the box is the deepest market.
How to spot fakes and resealed products
Astral Radiance boxes use the same clear shrink with a horizontal back seam and small vent holes as the rest of Sword & Shield. The Pokemon Company began using a slightly heavier gauge wrap around this release, so a box wrapped in thin, crinkly plastic with a vertical seam is a warning sign. Packs should have straight, ridged crimps and should not show a pinched or rounded corner. ETBs have the promo visible through the window and the sleeves shrink-wrapped separately inside. Because this set was heavily weighed in 2022 and 2023, treat loose packs and single-pack blisters as the riskiest formats and stick to boxes or sealed multi-pack products from sellers with sealed-product feedback.
