Lost Origin is the eleventh Sword & Shield expansion, released in September 2022 around Giratina and the Lost Zone mechanic. It is the set with the Giratina V alternate art, the Aerodactyl and Rotom V alt arts, and a Trainer Gallery that includes Pikachu VMAX, and it was also the first English set to ship in a booster bundle. Sealed Lost Origin has been the second most expensive Sword & Shield main set behind Fusion Strike and Evolving Skies for most of 2026. This page lists every sealed product with August 2026 prices and where to find it.

Sealed products for Lost Origin

Booster Box

Thirty-six ten-card packs at a $143.64 MSRP. Boxes were tight at release, loosened up in 2023, and have climbed since. In August 2026 sealed boxes trade at $680-$780, with most sales between $700 and $750. The Giratina alt art is the reason, and the box is the product most sealed investors hold.

Elite Trainer Box

The Giratina ETB includes eight packs, a Giratina promo, sleeves, dice, energy cards and a storage box at a $49.99 MSRP. Sealed retail ETBs run $190-$230 as of August 2026. Giratina is one of the more popular ETB artworks of the era, and the box is a common display piece.

Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box

The Pokemon Center version has the same packs and promo with foil energy and the PC logo, and it trades at $250-$320 sealed. Expect fewer comps than the retail box.

Booster Bundle

Lost Origin was the first set with a six-pack booster bundle at $26.94. Because it was new and printed in smaller numbers than later bundles, the Lost Origin bundle is expensive for what it is: $180-$220 sealed in mid-2026, or roughly $30-$36 per pack, more than the box on a per-pack basis. Buyers pay that because the bundle is the cheapest complete sealed Lost Origin retail product.

Build & Battle Box and Build & Battle Stadium

The Build & Battle Box (four packs, evolution pack, one of four promos, $19.99) sells for $70-$90. The Build & Battle Stadium (two kits plus extra packs and accessories, $49.99) trades at $170-$220. Both offer a lower entry price than a box and still return real Lost Origin packs.

Blisters

Three-pack blisters with Snorlax, Enamorus or Rotom promos sell for $60-$80, single-pack blisters for $20-$26 and loose packs for $16-$20.

Chase cards and pull rates

Giratina V alternate art 186/196 leads at $300-$450 raw and is one of the three or four most valuable non-vintage Pokemon cards outside of the top Charizards and the Umbreon VMAX. Giratina VSTAR gold 212/196 sits at $60-$100, Aerodactyl V alt art 180/196 at $80-$130 and Rotom V alt art 177/196 at $50-$80. Kyurem VMAX alt art 163/196 is $30-$50. In the Trainer Gallery, Pikachu VMAX TG29 is the standout at $40-$70, followed by the character-art Giratina and Kyurem cards. Colress's Experiment full art is a $20-$35 trainer.

Commonly reported rates for Lost Origin put an alt art at roughly one per two boxes and the Giratina V alt at roughly one per case or worse. A typical box returns three to five V or VSTAR cards, one or two full arts, one secret rare and one Trainer Gallery card.

Is Lost Origin worth buying sealed?

At roughly $19-$21 per pack in box form, Lost Origin is well past the point where opening makes financial sense. As a hold, it sits between Fusion Strike and Brilliant Stars: the Giratina alt art gives it a high-value chase, the set has been out of print since 2023 and Sword & Shield main sets have not been reprinted. Boxes roughly doubled between early 2024 and mid-2025 and have drifted slowly higher since. The ETB and booster bundle are thinner products for the price, so if you buy one item to hold, the box is the one with the widest buyer pool.

How to spot fakes and resealed products

Lost Origin boxes use the heavier clear shrink with a horizontal back seam and vent holes; the wrap should be snug with clean corners. Genuine packs have straight ridged crimps and the pack art printed sharply; a soft or rounded crimp indicates resealing. The booster bundle is the product to check most carefully because it is a lightweight box with glued flaps and no shrink wrap on some print runs; look for clean factory glue with no residue, and be wary of bundles where the flaps lift easily. ETBs should show the Giratina promo through the window with the sleeves and dice still shrink-wrapped inside. Loose packs were weighed heavily in 2022-2023, so buy them only from sellers with sealed-product history.

Where to buy Lost Origin sealed

Local shops that held 2022 stock often price boxes and bundles below eBay. Check the card shop directory for stores near you and call ahead. Card shows are a good place to find ETBs and Build & Battle Stadiums and inspect the wrap. On eBay, search:
