Booster Box

Thirty-six packs across four pack arts (Rapid Strike Urshifu, Single Strike Urshifu, Empoleon and Tyranitar), MSRP $143.64. Battle Styles was printed heavily and, arriving in the middle of the 2021 shortage, sat on shelves less than earlier sets but was restocked well into 2022. Sealed boxes sell for $210–$300 as of August 2026, with most transactions between $240 and $280. For a main set with a headline alt art, that is the lowest entry point in the era.

Elite Trainer Box (Rapid Strike and Single Strike)

Two ETBs shipped, one for each Urshifu form, each with eight packs, 65 sleeves, dice, markers, energy and a guide at $39.99. Sealed, both versions trade at $100–$135, with Rapid Strike slightly ahead because that art is more popular. The two versions were produced in similar numbers, so buy whichever art you prefer.

Build & Battle Box

Four packs, an evolution pack and one of four promos (Single Strike Urshifu V, Rapid Strike Urshifu V, Tyranitar V or Empoleon V) at $19.99. Sealed Build & Battle boxes run $45–$60. This set's prerelease was one of the first held largely in person again, so more were opened than for Rebel Clash or Vivid Voltage.

Blisters and Collection Boxes

Three-pack blisters (Galarian Zapdos and other promos) sell for $30–$45, single-pack blisters for $9–$13, and loose sleeved packs for $8–$11. The Single Strike and Rapid Strike Urshifu V Boxes, each with a V promo, an oversized card and four packs, released at $19.99 and trade at $40–$55 sealed. Battle Styles-era tins and collection boxes that mix Battle Styles packs with earlier sets sit at $40–$65.

Chase cards and pull rates

Tyranitar V alt art (155/163) is the card. It sells for $210–$250 raw and $650–$750 in PSA 10, and it holds those numbers because it was the first SWSH alt art with a full scene illustration and remains one of the most popular. Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX alt art (170/163) is $55–$70, Single Strike Urshifu VMAX alt art (168/163) is $25–$35, Mimikyu V alt art (148/163) is $35–$45, and Empoleon V alt art (146/163) is $20–$30. The gold secret rare Urshifu VMAX cards and the Cheryl and Phoebe full arts fill out the top of the list under $20.

Alt arts in Battle Styles are considerably rarer than regular full arts. Community-reported rates put any alt art at roughly one per two to three boxes, with the Tyranitar specifically appearing in a small fraction of boxes. Expect a normal one V or VMAX per three to four packs otherwise.

Is Battle Styles worth buying sealed?

At $250 a box, the sealed premium over MSRP is the smallest of any SWSH main set, and the expected value of an opened box is well under that but not embarrassingly so. The bull case is that Battle Styles has one of the most wanted alt arts of the era at a box price that has not caught up, and that sealed appreciation tends to flow into the cheapest boxes of a finished era over time. The bear case is that supply is deep and the checklist outside Tyranitar is thin. It is a reasonable low-cost hold and one of the few SWSH boxes still sensible to open for fun.

How to spot fakes and resealed products

Battle Styles boxes are worth less than the cost of a careful reseal, so the main risk is weighed packs sold loose or in hand-assembled "boxes." A real box has thin, matte, tight wrap with one seam, and the four pack arts should be mixed inside. Loose packs from this set are cheap, so if a seller is offering singles at a discount, assume they have been weighed. Check crimps for even ridges, confirm a code card in every pack, and on ETBs look for the holographic lid seal with its rainbow shimmer and no cut line. Urshifu V Boxes should have the factory cellophane fully sealed with no slit along the bottom.
