Sealed products for Vivid Voltage
Booster Box
Thirty-six packs at a $143.64 MSRP, with four pack arts (Pikachu VMAX, Charizard, Rayquaza and Zacian). Because the set shipped through the busiest retail period in the game's history, an enormous number of boxes were sold and a meaningful share were set aside sealed. In August 2026 boxes sell for $240–$360, with eBay auctions closing in the $280–$330 zone and TCGplayer listings a bit above. It is the least expensive main-set box between Darkness Ablaze and Battle Styles.
Elite Trainer Box
The single ETB is Pikachu-themed, with eight packs, 65 Pikachu sleeves, dice, markers, energy and a guide, at a $39.99 MSRP. Sealed it trades at $110–$160, with most sales around $125–$145. The sleeves are the reason many players opened these in 2020, so the ETB has held a slightly higher premium over the box than you would expect.
Build & Battle Box
Four packs, an evolution pack and one of four promos (Charizard V, Pikachu V, Zacian V or Coalossal V) for $19.99 at prerelease. A Pikachu V or Charizard V promo box is the desirable one, but the promo is hidden. Sealed Build & Battle boxes run $50–$70.
Blisters, Tins and Collection Boxes
Three-pack blisters with a Galarian Sirfetch'd or Kricketune promo sell for $35–$50, single-pack blisters for $10–$14, and the sleeved booster packs on their own for $11–$15. The fall 2020 V tins and collection boxes that included Vivid Voltage packs among their contents, such as the Pikachu V Box, trade at $45–$70 sealed depending on pack count and condition.
Chase cards and pull rates
The rainbow rare Pikachu VMAX (188/185) is the headline card at $130–$170 raw and $300–$400 in PSA 10, and it is the single most valuable booster pull of the early SWSH sets outside Charizard. The regular Pikachu VMAX (044/185) is a $10–$15 card. The Amazing Rares, which use a multicolored foil texture unique to this era, are popular with collectors: Rayquaza (138/185) at $20–$30, Jirachi (119/185) at $8–$12, and Zacian and Zamazenta under $10. The Charizard (025/185) is just a rare holo but sells for $5–$8 and gets pulled from many boxes. Leon full art and rainbow are $8–$15.
Pull rates are standard SWSH: roughly one V or VMAX per three to four packs, one Amazing Rare per box or two, and the rainbow Pikachu VMAX appearing in a minority of boxes. The prize pack and stamped Pikachu V variants from organized play are a separate market and do not come from sealed retail product.
Is Vivid Voltage worth buying sealed?
A Vivid Voltage box at $300 is a balanced buy. The expected value of opening one is well below the price, but the gap is narrower than for Rebel Clash or the base set, and the set has three things that keep demand alive: the rainbow Pikachu VMAX, the Amazing Rares and a pack art people recognize. Supply is deep, so it is not going to jump, but it has moved up steadily from around $110 in 2022. It is a sensible box for someone who wants exposure to the era at a lower entry point than Evolving Skies.
How to spot fakes and resealed products
Vivid Voltage boxes were cheap enough for long enough that rewrapping was uncommon, but it does occur with sellers who weigh packs for the rainbow Pikachu. Factory wrap is thin, matte and tight with one straight seam and small air holes; look for a wrap that bunches at the corners or has a wide, wavy seam. Packs should have uniform crimps and a code card each. Check that the box shows all four pack arts in a normal mix and that the inner tuck flaps are still glued. On ETBs, confirm the holographic seal on the lid has a rainbow shimmer and no cut.
