Booster Box

Elite Trainer Box

The ETB includes nine packs, a foil Charcadet promo, sleeves, dice, markers, energy and a collector's box, with an MSRP of $54.99. Sealed ETBs now sell for $135–$165. The Charcadet promo has a small following of its own, but the ETB is priced almost entirely on pack value plus the collectible box.

Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box

The Pokémon Center exclusive carries 11 packs and a stamped promo with exclusive foil energy for $59.99 at release. Expect $190–$240 sealed in August 2026, and confirm the Pokémon Center logo on the front panel before paying that premium.

Booster Bundle

Six packs for $26.94 retail. Bundles trade at $65–$80 and are the most practical small buy for someone who wants a handful of packs without committing to a box. As always with bundles, the glued flap is the weak point for resealers.

Blisters

Three-pack blisters with a promo sell for $38–$48 and single-pack checklane blisters for $12–$16. These are still occasionally found at big-box retailers, so check the pegs before paying eBay prices.

Build & Battle Box

The prerelease kit contains four packs, a 40-card deck and a holo promo. Sealed kits run $45–$60. They are a decent option for players, but the pack count is low for a Charizard hunt.

Chase cards and pull rates

Mega Charizard X ex Special Illustration Rare (125/94) is the card that moved this set. It has traded between $800 and $1,000 raw for most of the summer, up from around $450 at release. The gold Mega Hyper Rare version (130/94) is rarer to pull but less in demand, sitting at $350–$450. The full-art Ultra Rare (109/94) is the affordable version at $60–$100. Below the Charizard tier, Mega Lopunny ex SIR (128/94) and Mega Sharpedo ex SIR (127/94) sit at $50–$100, and Mega Heracross ex SIR is a surprisingly cheap SIR at $20–$35. The set's twelve Illustration Rares are well regarded and mostly trade under $30.

Pull rates follow the rest of the block: community trackers put Special Illustration Rares somewhere between one per 30 and one per 80 packs depending on the sample, with the Mega Hyper Rare far rarer. There are only five SIRs in the set, so any given SIR pull has about a one in five chance of being the Charizard X. A single booster box should be expected to produce one SIR, not a Charizard.

Phantasmal Flames is a prime target because of the price gap between a box and its expected contents. Real boxes have a horizontal shrink seam on the back and a Pokémon-logo film pattern; the box art shows Mega Charizard X on the front. Packs should have a serrated crimp on both ends and contain a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Weighed and resealed packs are a real problem for this set, so avoid loose packs from unknown sellers and prefer full sealed boxes or ETBs. On ETBs, check that the inner promo pack is still sealed and the shrink has no cuts along the bottom edge.
