December means football commands the most attention, so NFL tables carry rookie patch autographs, Prizm, Optic and Select parallels and vintage stars, while the NBA season keeps basketball moving. Hockey, UFC, boxing and soccer each hold real table space. Graded slabs from PSA, SGC and BGS are distributed throughout the hall, and a handful of dealers focus specifically on raw vintage that has never been submitted for grading, which is where patient buyers at this show find their upside. Pokemon singles and sealed product represent the trading card game side, and the room also carries memorabilia, signed baseballs and photos, vintage programs and ticket stubs, comics and collectible figures.
Hours are 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, a single afternoon window. Admission is free for everyone, with no early-access tier, no advance tickets and no upcharge of any kind. Children are welcome with an adult, and the dime and quarter boxes most dealers keep under their tables are why kids actually enjoy this show.
The show fills the Webb and Powell Rooms of the SCW Foundation building at 14465 W RH Johnson Blvd, inside the R.H. Johnson recreation complex just off Grand Avenue in Sun City West. Parking is free and wraps the building, and the rooms are fully climate controlled with level access throughout and aisles wide enough to browse comfortably with a rolling case. The connected two-room layout gives the show real breathing space, which is welcome on a busy seasonal date.
Vintage collectors and set builders get the most from this room, but free admission and an unhurried pace make it a good family outing and one of the easiest first shows in the Valley for someone brand new to collecting. The Sun City West dealer base is patient and genuinely enjoys explaining grading, population reports and how raw pricing compares to slabbed. Collection buyers should note that December through March is the peak window at this venue, when the seasonal population is largest and long-dormant collections surface most often.
Work the afternoon like this: arrive at the 1:00 PM open, make one full pass without buying to map where your targets are, then circle back and negotiate with a plan in hand. Cash earns the best price at a show with no admission revenue. Keep a written want list with ceiling prices rather than negotiating from memory, and carry penny sleeves and top loaders for raw pickups. A loupe or bright phone light pays for itself on vintage corners and centering. If you are gift shopping, graded slabs present best.
