Downtown Franklin game shop on Fair Street mixing Pokemon packs and MTG play with board games, Sorcery nights and family-friendly game evenings for all ages.
Just a few blocks off Main Street, The Guildhouse brings a true game-store hangout to downtown Franklin. The Fair Street shop is part retail counter, part community table, and it has earned a 4.9 rating from local players and families who use it as their regular spot.
Trading cards are a big part of the draw. Pokemon is popular with kids and parents alike, and Magic: The Gathering players will find product and a place to shuffle up. The store also supports newer games: Sorcery: Contested Realm has a dedicated community that meets every other Thursday. Warhammer 40K and a deep shelf of board games round out the selection, and the owner is happy to walk visitors through how a game plays before they buy.
The space is clean and bright, with an indoor seating area that makes it easy to settle in for a few hours on a hot or rainy afternoon. Kids board game nights come with patient instruction, so the shop works well for families looking for something to do downtown. If you want trading cards Franklin kids can open and then actually learn to play on the spot, this is the place.
Hours are a little unusual, so plan ahead: Monday 4PM to 8PM; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 8PM; Wednesday noon to 6PM; Saturday 10AM to 6PM; closed Sunday. Downtown parking can be tight on weekends, so the public garages nearby are your friend.
As a Franklin card shop with a strong family focus and a growing roster of game nights, The Guildhouse fills a gap the city had been missing. Check the website for the current event calendar.
