North Austin one-stop for TCGs, comics, manga and slabs, known for weekly local tournaments, a deep Weiss Schwarz selection and free sleeving on valuable pulls.
Bandito's Cards, Comics & Collectibles is a hole-in-the-wall on Hyridge Drive in north Austin, and reviewers warn that reaching it takes a bit of navigation: coming southbound from the access road near the Capital of Texas Highway and 183 intersection is the reliable way in. Once there, visitors describe a clean, extremely organized shop that stocks comics, TCGs, supplies, sports cards, statues, manga and Funko Pops, a mix that makes it a true one-stop shop for Austin collectors.
The shop's reputation rests on its community. A parent says she and her daughter love going for the fair prices, the people and the fun local tournaments that run every week, and calls it more than a card shop. Another customer calls Bandito's Weiss Schwarz selection the best in town and recalls staff helping with price checks and sleeving the valuable cards for free as the customer opened product in store.
Inventory goes beyond the usual. A table of ten-dollar Funko Pops, a large selection of slabs and individual packs, and a general TCG variety make it appealing to both new players and veterans. If you need Pokemon cards in Austin alongside manga or comics, it's one of the few places that handles all of them under one roof.
Reviews are mixed on service for some visitors, so ask questions plainly and compare pricing. The shop opens at 1PM Monday through Thursday and noon Friday through Sunday, closing at 8PM on weekdays and Saturday and 7PM on Sunday. Call 512-956-6954 or check banditos.net for tournament nights. Weeknights are less crowded for browsing slabs.
