When Dark Tower Games gave up its Railroad Avenue space, a group of local owners took it over and reopened it in August 2022 as Aegis Games, later adding the Aegis Taphouse next door. The result is a downtown Bellingham card shop where a draft pod can order a local craft beer, a cider, or a panini without anyone leaving the table. The business is veteran-owned and LGBTQ+-owned, and it has grown into what one reviewer calls the most vibrant Magic community in the area.

Magic: The Gathering is the center of gravity. Friday Night Magic, regular drafts, Limited and Pauper events, and set prereleases run through the week, and reviewers note that tournaments frequently fill to capacity with generous prize support. Pricing follows TCGplayer, which a Yelp reviewer singles out as the reason to buy singles here. Yu-Gi-Oh! gets the weekends, and the store is an official event location for both Flesh and Blood and Riftbound. Pokemon, Lorcana, Digimon, and Star Wars Unlimited product is stocked, and Pokemon players are explicitly welcomed to leagues and special events.

The play space is large, with table fees for non-members and a membership program that waives them while adding discounts on purchases and special orders. Pre-orders on new sets are competitively priced, which shows up repeatedly in reviews. Beyond cards, the shelves hold board games, RPG books, wargaming miniatures, and paints. Hours are noon to 10 PM Monday through Friday and noon to 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Friday nights and weekend Yu-Gi-Oh! are the busy stretches; a weekday afternoon is best for browsing or a relaxed Commander game. The location at 1431 Railroad Avenue near East Champion Street is in the heart of downtown, with metered street parking and the Railroad Avenue garage nearby.
