On a crowded Saturday nobody has time to walk you through why one slab is worth three times another with the same number on the label. On a Wednesday evening, they do.
That is worth knowing if you are buying graded, because the number on the flip is only part of the story. Population reports, label generation, whether a card is a qualifier, the difference between how PSA, CGC, SGC and Beckett treat centering and surface — all of it moves price, and all of it is easier to learn across a table than off a forum. Several dealers in this room work primarily in graded inventory and will explain their pricing if asked.

The Toyota Meeting Hall is at 3330 Civic Center Drive North, Torrance 90503, on the Torrance Cultural Arts Center campus. Free civic center parking is easy on a weeknight. The hall is indoors, climate controlled, carpeted and accessible with restrooms in the complex. Old Torrance dining is a short walk and the Japanese restaurant corridor nearby is worth the detour.
This date suits collectors who want to buy deliberately rather than quickly — graded buyers, vintage hunters, and anyone building a specific registry set. Newer collectors get real value from the slower pace. Families with young kids should look at the Sunday daytime dates given the 10:00 PM finish.
Practical advice: if you are buying a slab, look at the card, not just the label. Hold it under light and check the centering yourself; graders are consistent but not infallible, and two cards in the same holder can be very different pieces of cardboard. Ask what the dealer paid comps at, not just what they are asking. Bring cash, which still closes faster than any app. If you are considering submitting your own cards, bring two or three sleeved examples and get an honest read before you spend money on grading fees.
