🃏 About This Event

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 puts the LA Card Dude Show in the recreation center building at 3341 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, running 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This is the smaller of the promoter's Torrance rooms and it is the one to pick if you are collecting on a budget. Smaller rooms have shorter lines at the dollar boxes, more time per dealer, and less of the psychological pressure that makes people overspend at a hundred-table show.

Budget collecting is a legitimate way to enjoy this hobby and this room supports it well. Raw bins, dollar boxes and quarter lots are consistently available. Junk-wax-era baseball, basketball and football from the late 1980s and early 1990s costs almost nothing and includes plenty of cards people genuinely want to own. Modern base cards of stars sell for a fraction of their rookie or insert counterparts. Common Pokemon from recent sets fills a binder for very little. None of that is an investment, and it is not supposed to be — it is the part of the hobby that is actually fun.

The room also carries the serious material. Sports tables run MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL across vintage and modern with rookie and prospect inventory, autographed and relic cards, and boxing and UFC. Graded slabs from PSA, CGC, SGC and Beckett. Pokemon sealed product and singles, plus Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Lorcana dealers depending on who booked the date.

One 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM session, no early access and no tiered ticket. The promoter publishes date, room and hours but not a door price, so check LA Card Dude's Instagram or the show page for admission before you go.

The recreation center is at 3341 Civic Center Drive, Torrance 90503, immediately next to the Cultural Arts Center buildings this series uses on other dates — same free parking, different entrance. The building is single level and accessible with restrooms on site. Old Torrance is a short walk for dinner and the surrounding Japanese and Korean restaurants make a mid-show break easy.

This date is a strong first show for a kid or a returning collector. Nobody is going to make you feel out of place for spending twenty dollars, and in a room this size the dealers will talk to you.

Advice: set a budget before you walk in and carry only that much cash — it is the single most effective discipline at a card show. Buy what you like rather than what you think will appreciate, because at the budget end the appreciation is not coming. Ask about bulk pricing on raw commons; most dealers will make a deal on volume that they will not make on one card. Bring a binder or a box to put things in, plus penny sleeves. And walk the whole room first, because in a small space that takes ten minutes and will save you money.
