Ask Clearwater players where they actually spend their evenings and the answer is usually a low storefront on Drew Street with tables in the back. Phoenix Emporium built its reputation on play space rather than inventory volume — seating that is comfortable enough to sit in for six hours, refreshments on hand, and a tournament schedule that gives Magic, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! players a reason to show up midweek.

That said, the shelves hold their own. Singles run across all three major games alongside sealed boxes and boosters, and there is a genuine vintage component for collectors willing to dig. The store also carries an extensive Funko Pop wall and a rack of vintage video games, which makes it an easier sell to a household where only one person plays cards.

Owners Spencer and Shane run the counter themselves, and reviewers consistently frame the place in terms of attitude rather than stock — the recurring theme is staff who care about the game more than the transaction. The shop buys as well as sells, across trading cards and games generally, so a shoebox of childhood cards is a legitimate reason to walk in. Fair warning from the review pile: pricing in the bulk bins can be inconsistent, so it is worth checking a comp on anything you would care about overpaying for.

Hours are late by Clearwater standards — noon to 9PM most days, 10PM Friday and Saturday, 8PM Sunday, open every day of the week. The location is also convenient in a way that is easy to miss on a map: Crock's Sports Emporium is roughly a block west at 2014 Drew, which means a single stop on this stretch of Drew Street covers both TCG singles and vintage sports cards in Clearwater without moving your car more than a few hundred feet.
