Weekly Pokemon league every Saturday, deep TCG singles, and a play floor big enough to matter — Arena is Panama City's busiest organized-play room.

Arena Comics & Gaming spent sixteen years in the Panama Plaza before crossing Lisenby Avenue to its current building, and the extra square footage went straight into play space. The floor is laid out so the retail side and the tables do not fight each other: comics and collectibles up front, glass cases of TCG singles and sealed product along the middle, and open seating in back that fills up fast on league nights.

Organized play is the engine here. The Pokemon Card Game league runs every Saturday, and the store's event calendar also carries drafts, Nexus Nights and tournaments across Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh and Flesh and Blood. Regulars will tell you the crowd is unusually welcoming to walk-ins, which is not automatic at a shop with this much of a regular scene. If you are new in town and looking for trading cards in Panama City with people to actually play against, this is the shortest path.

Release weekends are worth building a trip around, but come with expectations set. Arena caps sealed purchases when a new Pokemon set lands so the product spreads across the community instead of walking out in one armload. Collectors coming from out of town have noted that staff will take a phone call ahead of time, check whether the set has landed, and call back to confirm.

Beyond cards, the shelves run deep on anime statues, Gundam and other model kits, blind boxes, board games, miniatures and hobby supplies. Comics get real attention too, with pull lists available for anyone who wants their books held. It is a broader inventory than a pure card shop, and that mix is part of why the store draws families rather than only tournament players.

Timing matters. Arena opens at noon most days and stays open until nine on Tuesday and Wednesday and ten on Friday, so evenings are the practical window for anyone working a day shift. Saturday is the long day, ten in the morning to ten at night, and it is also the busiest. Sunday runs noon to seven. Parking is on-site off Lisenby, just north of West 15th Street.
