Cape Fear Collectibles

Wrightsville Avenue hub for Magic and Pokemon singles, Warhammer and tabletop, with a Friday night that runs to 11pm for event play.

Cape Fear Collectibles anchors the Wrightsville Avenue side of Wilmington's hobby scene, and its late hours tell you what kind of shop it is. Most nights it runs to 8pm; Fridays it stays open until 11pm. That extra three hours exists because the play tables fill up, and the shop is built around that rhythm rather than around closing on time.

The card side covers Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon most heavily — singles pulled and sleeved, sealed product across current sets, and the supplies to protect anything you buy. Beyond cards, the shelves carry Warhammer models and rulebooks, board games, and miniatures, with painting supplies for the people who came for the models rather than the cards. It's a genuine hybrid rather than a card shop with a token game shelf.

The environment is the recurring theme in reviews: welcoming, unpretentious, and easy to walk into cold without knowing anyone. For anyone new to Wilmington trading cards or new to a format, that matters more than inventory depth. Staff will teach a game rather than sell you into one.

Weekend hours open at 11am on both Saturday and Sunday, running to 9pm and 8pm respectively — long enough for a full day of event play. Monday through Thursday the shop opens at 1pm, so mornings are not the time to stop by.

The Wrightsville Avenue location sits between downtown and Wrightsville Beach with its own parking, and the building is easy to spot from the road. Bring a deck if you want the full experience; the play space is the point.
