Double Midnight Comics

Willow Street institution pairing Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon singles with dedicated gaming rooms and near-nightly organized play in Manchester.

Ask a New Hampshire player where they learned to draft and Double Midnight comes up more often than anywhere else. The Willow Street location has been running organized play long enough to have produced a couple of generations of local Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh regulars, and the store is built around that: separate themed gaming rooms sit behind the retail floor, with a house rule that unpaid merchandise stays out of them.

The card side covers Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon in both singles and sealed, including Japanese-language product that is otherwise hard to find north of Boston. Because the shop also carries manga, model kits, figures, statues, posters, and a snack rack stocked with Japanese and Korean imports, the browse takes longer than you plan for. The comic wall remains the backbone, with new-release Wednesdays still pulling a crowd.

Weekday hours run to 10pm, which is the tell that this is a play-first store. Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon events cycle through the week, prerelease weekends fill the rooms, and a monthly trivia night rounds out the calendar. Weekends close earlier, 6pm Saturday and Sunday, so plan a browse-only trip for those days.

Buying and selling happens both in-store and through the shop's online channels, and the counter is used to handling collections rather than one-off singles. Reviewers reliably point at the staff as the differentiator, which is not nothing for a store this size.

The building is on Willow Street with its own lot, a few minutes off I-293, and there is a companion location in Concord if the Manchester room is booked out on a tournament night.
