Gamers Asylum

Washington Boulevard hobby store with an upstairs play space overlooking Ogden — Pokemon singles from a quarter up, plus Magic and retro games.

A thousand-plus Google reviews puts Gamers Asylum in a category of its own among Ogden card shops. The Washington Boulevard store has been a fixture long enough to serve two generations of the same families, and the footprint reflects it: retail up front, a play space with a view over the city, several tables set aside for tabletop war games, and private rooms that groups can book for role-playing sessions.

On the card side, Pokemon singles run the full ladder from quarter commons to $20 chase cards, which means a kid with pocket change and a collector with a want list can both walk out satisfied. Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! are stocked in sealed and singles. Beyond cards, the store carries comics, miniature games, board games, retro video games and Star Wars collectibles — the kind of range that makes it a browse destination rather than a quick errand.

Tournaments run regularly, and the community atmosphere gets named as often as the inventory in recent reviews. Prices draw consistent praise as fair rather than opportunistic.

The schedule is generous: 11AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday and 11AM to 6PM Sunday — the only Ogden card shop open seven days with a nine o'clock close. Parking can tighten during Washington Boulevard rush hour, so mid-afternoon or later evening visits are smoother. Street and private lot parking are both available, with bike parking out front.
